------A Famous Vigorous Historical and Cultural City

    Quanzhou City, situatecd on the southeast coast of Fujian Province, is separated from Taiwan only by one water route and has a population of 6,700,000. It is a famous hometown for overseas Chinese and an ancestral home for many Taiwan compatriots. Quanzhou was among the first famous historical and cultural cities recognized by the Council of State, where there are many places of interest, among which 12 historical and cultural sites are under state prevention and 37 under provincial prevention. Comprehensive economic strength of Quanzhou City has increased since the practice in the open and reform policy and its economic gross and the rate of economic development is among the top in the province. Now Quanzhou has become a famous vigorous historical and cultural city in Mainland China.
